2.4.1 Potential Motivators for Voting
The above bar graph shows what would encourage respondents to vote in the next federal election. The results are as follows:
- Eighteen percent of the respondents said they usually vote or will vote in the next federal election while 5 percent of respondents said they do not or would not vote. Factors that would encourage the rest do the respondents included the possibility to vote on the Internet or phone (14 percent), better candidates/leaders/parties/policies (10 percent), better/clearer information on candidates/policies/platforms (5 percent), making voting easier or more accessible (4 percent), more campaigning/advertisement/publicity (4 percent), and that it depends on candidates/platforms/leaders (4 percent).
