Electoral Campaign Expenses

There are three categories of electoral campaign expenses:

  1. Election expenses are incurred anytime and used during the election period to promote or oppose a candidate. They are subject to the election expenses limit and may be eligible for a partial reimbursement.
  2. Candidate's personal expenses are incurred anytime as an incidence of the election. They do not count against the election expenses limit and may be eligible for a partial reimbursement.
  3. Other electoral campaign expenses are incurred anytime as an incidence of the election. They do not count against the election expenses limit and are not eligible for a reimbursement.
