Youth voter turnout increased.

The infographic provides the following statistics:

  • In 2011, 38.8% of eligible electors between the ages of 18 and 24 voted in the 41st general election. Voter participation rose to 57.1% in the 42nd general election among eligible voters of the same age group. This amounts to an increase of 18.3 percentage points.
  • In 2011, 45.1% of eligible electors between the ages of 25 and 34 voted in the 41st general election. Voter participation rose to 57.4% in the 42nd general election among eligible voters of the same age group. This amounts to an increase of 12.3 percentage points.
