Roundtable on Political Financing

On October 11, 2017, Elections Canada and the Public Policy Forum co-convened a roundtable discussion on political financing. Invited experts, including academics, journalists, former political party organizers and other professionals, gathered in Montréal, Quebec, to discuss public and private financing, transparency and campaign spending. The goals of the roundtable were:

  • to foster a thoughtful exchange of ideas on the administration of the political financing regime;
  • to expand and clarify the scope of choices available to decision-makers;
  • to identify any research and policy gaps.

You can view the report "Transparent and Level: Modernizing Political Financing in Canada" on the Public Policy Forum's website.
