Summary of Past Consultations

Every year, Elections Canada plans and delivers consultations to support its various initiatives for electors, and to ensure that all electoral services:

  • are based on evidence; and
  • are accessible.

Elections Canada maintains a network of interveners consisting of professionals and organizations representing various key audiences, including, but not limited to:

  • Persons with disabilities
  • First-time electors:
    • Youth (18-24)
    • New Canadians
  • Future electors (14-17)
  • Indigenous electors
  • Jewish communities
  • Electoral Management Bodies
  • Political entities
  • Educators

Consultation activities are conducted using in-person and digital tools, including standing committees, technical sessions, facilitated discussions, consultative meetings, stakeholder-led events and bilateral meetings with external organizations. Elections Canada also takes part in consultations and roundtables about the electoral system and processes.
