By-election Results Will Be Available
After the Last Polls Close

Ottawa, Friday, November 22, 2013

  • Preliminary results will be available at www.elections.ca from 9:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Monday, November 25, 2013, for the federal by-elections in Bourassa (Quebec), Brandon–Souris (Manitoba), Provencher (Manitoba) and Toronto Centre (Ontario). Unofficial voter turnout results will be displayed in real time throughout the night.
  • As soon as polls close, the deputy returning officers count the votes and transmit the results to the returning officers for the electoral districts, who immediately relay them electronically to Elections Canada in Ottawa.
  • Elections Canada's election night results web page has been updated to reflect new accessibility guidelines and now includes a mobile-friendly version of the results.

"As soon as the polls close, Elections Canada staff work together to get election results to Canadians as soon as possible," says Chief Electoral Officer Marc Mayrand.
