Performance standard A response is provided within 30 days following receipt of a request. The response time may be extended under section 9 of the Access to Information Act.
Performance results Elections Canada responded to 51% of requests within 30 days*, 18% within 31 to 60 days, 20% within 61 to 120 days, 5% within 121 to 180 days, and 6% within 181 to 365 days. No request took longer than a year to process.
Other information Under the Access to Information Act, fees under $25 may be waived when this is deemed to be in the public interest. Fees waived during 2015–16 totalled $10.

*Includes cases where a notice of extension is sent to the requester within 30 days of receipt of the request.
