Chief Electoral Officer Registers Party Name Change
Gatineau, Thursday, September 25, 2014
- The Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, Marc Mayrand, has accepted a request for the registration of changes to the full name and short-form name of the Senior Patriotic Party of Canada (a party eligible for registration).
- The party's full name is now Seniors Party of Canada and its short-form name is Seniors Party, effective September 23, 2014.
- The request was submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer in a report filed in accordance with section 382 of the Canada Elections Act, dated September 12, 2014.
- An updated list of the political parties eligible for registration is available on Elections Canada's website.
