Registered Political Parties Receive Third Quarter Allowances
OTTAWA, Monday, October 3, 2011
- Registered political party third quarter allowances for the 2011 fiscal year have been paid. These allowances are based on the results of the 41st general election of May 2, 2011.
- Registered political parties that meet voting thresholds in a general election are eligible to receive quarterly allowances.
- The current annual allowance, adjusted for inflation, is $2.039 per valid vote ($1.75 x 1.165). This annual allowance is paid in quarterly instalments.
