Registered Political Parties Receive Second Quarter Allowances
Gatineau, Thursday, July 3, 2014
- Registered political party second quarter allowances for the 2014 fiscal year have been paid. These allowances are based on the results of the 41st general election of May 2, 2011.
- Registered political parties that meet voting thresholds in a general election are eligible for quarterly allowances.
- The current annual allowance is $0.1275 per valid vote. This annual allowance is paid in quarterly instalments.
- Pursuant to the Canada Elections Act, the quarterly allowances are being reduced over a three-year period.
